The Giants waived Bowie on Wednesday, Dan Duggan of The Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
The transaction comes just days after Bowie was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. Giants general manager Jerry Reese noted that the NFL is still gathering more information regarding the incident that prompted Bowie's arrest, so if the offensive tackle is ultimately cleared of any discipline from the league, New York wouldn't necessarily close the door on re-signing him.

GM John Schneider confirmed second-year OT Michael Bowie will get the first crack at the Seahawks' starting right-tackle opening. Last year's starting RT Breno Giacomini signed with the Jets in March. There's currently no real competition on the roster for Bowie, but the Seahawks could stand to upgrade at right tackle, right guard, and left guard if they so choose in next week's draft. Bowie started nine games last season and was a plus run blocker.

Seahawks seventh-round OT Michael Bowie suffered what is believed to be a "serious" shoulder injury in Thursday's preseason finale. It means Bowie will likely be waived/injured, and spend his rookie season on injured reserve. Fighting for a reserve spot, Bowie was likely ticketed for the practice squad before going down.
