The Lakers have reached out to unrestricted free agent Lamar Odom. He played seven years with the Lakers and won two titles with the team. Odom will turn 34 in the first month of the season and after playing just 19.7 minutes per game with the Clippers last year, it'll be tough on teams to count on him for more than 20 minutes each night on a consistent basis.

The Clippers reportedly want to re-sign Lamar Odom, but they may only offer him a veteran's minimum contract. Odom's game isn't what it used to be, as evidenced by his 39.9 percent shooting last season, but he can still be a useful and versatile bench player for a playoff contender. The 33-year-old forward hasn't given any indication about his preferences in free agency.

Lamar Odom had strong words for his Clippers teammates in advance of a do-or-die Game 6 on Friday vs. the Grizzlies. "I don't know if it's just about [lack of] intensity," he said. "It might be more about paying attention to detail and understanding what sacrifice is and how to sacrifice yourself for the team." It's pretty rich that Odom would be the one to speak on the issue given the effort he provided in Dallas last year and the fact that he showed up to Clippers training camp overweight and out of shape, but at least someone is talking. Odom added he's tried to take a leadership role all year, but some of his advance has "fallen on deaf ears." The Clippers are up against it and the Grizzlies smell blood in the water with Game 6 in Memphis.

If Blake Griffin (ankle) can't play in Friday's Game 6, Lamar Odom would "probably" start in his place. Yikes. Odom hasn't received a blurb since the end of February, a telling indication of how valuable he's been for fantasy owners this season. If Griffin can't go, the Clippers will need just about everyone to step up, Odom included.

Vinny Del Negro reiterated that Lamar Odom is "physically feeling better." "We need him to be more aggressive like that," he said. "It doesn't mean he's always going to get 18 points or shoot that high a percentage, but the threat of him doing that changes everything for us when he's that aggressive." Del Negro is right and Odom will be very important down the stretch with VDN's noted trust issues with DeAndre Jordan.

Lamar Odom cooled off on Tuesday with just six points in 21 minutes, but did have seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two 3-pointers. As we've mentioned, the Clippers' schedule is terrible and while Odom continues to come on, his fantasy schedule will make him a very risky proposition going forward, especially given his inconsistency. The Clippers remaining weekly games-played schedule goes 3-2-3-4-3-3-2 to finish out the season, so owners would be wise to look for a better option if games played matter in your league.

Lamar Odom is now in shape "after struggling with his conditioning" this season. It took long enough. Odom is coming off a game where he had 18 points, six boards, two assists and a steal, and he's going to have to play a critical role the rest of the way if the Clippers are going to make legitimate noise. Vinny Del Negro does not trust DeAndre Jordan to be on the court late in games, and it's painfully obvious to anyone who watches. Odom plans to "keep at it," which is good news for his team and any owners relying on his production.

Lamar Odom scored a season-high 18 points vs. Utah on Saturday, making 8-of-15 field goals with six boards, two assists and one steal. First the bad news. This was only Odom's second game of the season with 10+ points, and his role was inflated by garbage time in the fourth quarter. The good news is his jumper may have returned after spending the first 50 games of the season on a beach in Mexico -- he made 4-of-6 shots beyond 17 feet, including two 3-pointers.

Lamar Odom played 16 minutes in his return from an eye injury during Thursday's loss to the Spurs, scoring four points with four boards, one assist and one steal. It was nice to see LO not miss any games since he had a trip to the hospital a week ago. He's playing just 20 minutes per night with the Clippers and doesn't have much value while the Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan are healthy.

Lamar Odom (eye) has been cleared to play against the Spurs on Thursday. He was in both of the practices this week and there seems to be nothing wrong with his eye. Odom had to go to the hospital last Thursday and it's nice to see that he's ready to go again. He doesn't have much value with DeAndre Jordan snapping out of his funk.
