MacKenzie Gore allowed five earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven over 5 2/3 innings in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Gore continues an underwhelming stretch on the mound of late, allowing three earned runs or more in four of his last five trips to the mound. The left-hander remains one of the more inconsistent options in the Rangers rotation for manager Skip Schumaker, posting a 4.80 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with a 6-8 record and 9.9 K/9 ratio across 21 starts.

MacKenzie Gore will start for the Rangers on Saturday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Gore struggled heavily across the first half of the season. He'll be looking to get back on track the rest of the way as the Rangers compete in the AL West.

Gore allowed one run on two hits and a walk while striking out four over four innings in a no-decision versus the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Jacob deGrom was scratched due to a glute injury, and Gore stepped up to pitch on short rest. Gore threw 39 of 65 pitches for strikes and limited the damage to a Jose Altuve solo shot in the fourth inning. Gore had given up 12 runs over his previous 10 innings. The southpaw is now at a 4.63 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 115:41 K:BB through 105 innings over 20 starts this season. Expect him to go back to normal rest after the All-Star break, though his effectiveness Sunday in a shorter outing could be something to keep an eye on.

Gore will be the Rangers' starting pitcher against Houston on Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gore last pitched Wednesday against the Angels, so he'll be working on only three days of rest. Texas manager Skip Schumaker said Saturday that Gore approached him and offered to take the mound in what was otherwise looking like it might be a bullpen game for the team. Gore tossed 90 pitches in his previous start, so he may have his workload monitored Sunday in the Rangers' final contest before the All-Star break. Given that Texas will then have four days off, Gore's start Sunday won't necessarily impact his usual slotting in the rotation.

Gore (5-8) allowed seven runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out seven over five innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Gore has allowed four or more runs in four of his last seven outings, taking a loss each time that's happened. The left-hander was tagged for a pair of home runs by Jo Adell, which accounted for five of the seven runs. Gore is now at a 4.72 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 111:40 K:BB through 101 innings over 19 starts this season.

Gore (5-7) took the loss Wednesday, giving up five runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings as the Rangers fell 9-4 to the Guardians. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
All five runs against the southpaw came in the second inning, highlighted by a three-run homer from David Fry, and Texas offense was never able to climb out of the hole. It's the first time since May 7 that Gore has been tagged for more than four runs, but since the beginning of June he's stumbled to a 4.92 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB over 34.2 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Angels.

Gore (5-6) earned the win Thursday against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk in seven innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Toronto did all of its of damage during a three-run fifth frame, but Gore kept the Blue Jays off balance otherwise. The 27-year-old southpaw induced a whopping 10 groundouts on the evening, and he's now logged four quality starts in his past seven outings after recording just one such effort in his first 10 appearances of 2026. Gore, who has a 4.05 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 97:38 K:BB over 91 innings, is next set to face a Guardians lineup that has an atrocious .453 OPS versus left-handed pitching since the beginning of June.

Gore took a no-decision Saturday against San Diego, allowing one run on five hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Control has been a common issue for Gore in 2026, but he managed to submit his sixth start of the year with at least six frames Saturday. The 27-year-old southpaw has issued multiple free passes in four straight appearances and 12 of his 16 outings so far, but he's given up more than three runs on only four occasions. Gore will carry a middling 4.07 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 92:37 K:BB over 84 innings into his next scheduled start in Toronto.

Gore (4-6) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings against Minnesota. He struck out 10.
EDGE Analysis
Gore struggled out of the gate, surrendering a three-run homer to Josh Bell in the first inning, but he was able to settle in and allow just one more run across the next six frames. The southpaw's 10 strikeouts marked a season high after he had previously topped out at nine punchouts on two occasions. Gore will carry a 4.27 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 86:35 K:BB across 78 innings (15 starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against San Diego.

Gore did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Royals, allowing two runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out six over five innings
EDGE Analysis
Gore spent much of the afternoon pitching with traffic on the bases, allowing multiple baserunners in all but one inning. The left-hander easily could have been tagged for a much worse line, but he repeatedly worked out of trouble and stranded four runners in scoring position across his five innings of work. While the run prevention was solid, the amount of contact remains a concern, as Gore has now allowed 17 hits total in his last 9.2 innings. The 27-year-old has pitched well overall since May 12, posting a 2.90 ERA during that stretch. Gore now owns a 4.18 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 76:33 K:BB across 71 innings and is lined up to face the Twins at home in his next start.
