Outman came to the plate in the seventh inning down 2-0 with two men on and two out, and deposited to a two-strike pitch just over the right field wall to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead at the time. The long ball was Outman's fourth of the season, but he is still hitting just .159 with four homers, six stolen bases, and a .515 OPS across 80 games between the Twins and Tigers this season. With Javier Baez (ankle) currently on a rehab assignment, Outman's time on the active roster in Detroit could be nearing its end.

Outman hit one of five Detroit home runs on the night, and it continued a decent power display with his new team. The outfielder had no long balls and a lowly .479 OPS across 49 games with the Twins earlier in the season. Since joining the Tigers in mid-June, Outman has gone deep three times and posted a.779 OPS in 15 contests. The 29-year-old is still hard to fully trust in fantasy, but at least his bat is showing some signs of life.

Outman is starting to seize more playing time in center field in tandem with Matt Vierling, with Vierling also capable of playing a corner spot as he did Friday. Outman isn't hitting much with only a .190 batting average in 11 games with the Tigers and an even worse .165 average overall. He's not a particularly exciting fantasy option due to the lack of consistent contact, but with both Javier Baez (ankle) and Wenceel Perez (orbital) facing extended absences, playing time should continue to be there for Outman in the short term, unless the Tigers decide the time is right to bring up top prospect Max Clark.

He came on as a defensive replacement after Jahmai Jones pinch hit for Kerry Carpenter in the fourth inning. Outman recorded his first multi-hit effort since joining the Tigers about 10 days ago as well as his first stolen base. Outman will now get a chance to turn things around with the Tigers, though it remains to be seen what his role ultimately will be, and he's likely behind Matt Vierling for center field playing time, at least for now.
