Peyton Hillis rushed 20 times for 70 yards and caught three passes for 15 yards in Sunday's Week 8 win at Philadelphia.
Hillis didn't start, but he played well ahead of rookie Michael Cox once again. He's now touched the ball 23 times in two straight weeks, the kind of volume fantasy owners salivate over. However, the Giants will likely get both Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) and Andre Brown (leg) after their Week 9 bye. There's little reason to stash the plodding Hillis.

Peyton Hillis said he's ready to carry a bigger load this week against the Eagles after he admitted to having "jello legs" last Monday night.
"I think it always takes a couple weeks to get back into shape when you're on the couch for five weeks," Hillis said. "I'm thinking that no matter what they ask me to do my body is going to be in a lot better shape than it was last week for sure." Hillis, 27, even said that he accepted his career was likely over four or five weeks ago and quit working out. Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) has yet to practice this week. It looks as if Hillis is going to be the bell-cow.

Peyton Hillis admitted to having "jello legs" on Monday night.
Just a week ago, Hillis was at home on his ranch in Tennessee and not even working out. On Monday, he touched the ball 23 times on 48 snaps and produced 81 of the ugliest yards you'll ever see. Hillis ran around the field like an elephant, unable to even move his hips and just plowing into defenders. He figures to be in a little better shape by Sunday's game against the Eagles, but Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) could be back. And with the bye in Week 9 followed by Andre Brown's (PUP, leg) likely return, there's only desperation waiver appeal here.

Peyton Hillis rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries in the Giants' Week 7, 23-7 win over the Vikings on Monday night.
Making his debut with the team just five days after signing, Hillis started and saw 23 touches. He caught five passes for and additional 45 yards on six targets out of the backfield. This was without question the single ugliest football game after seven weeks on the season. It felt like a preseason game with viewers just waiting for the game clock to hit zeros. Hillis looked terrible in the first half, but he got his legs under him after the break and was arguably the best offensive player on the field in this one. That's not an endorsement. It simply was just a brutal display of football. The Giants will look to get Brandon Jacobs back from a hamstring injury next week. If Jacobs can't go, Hillis will carry the load again in Week 8 against the Eagles. He's not a fantasy option.

ESPN New York expects Peyton Hillis to be the Giants' "primary ball carrier" in Monday night's game against the Vikings.
Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) is not expected to play and the Giants don't appear to trust raw seventh-round rookie Michael Cox. That leaves Hillis, who was just signed off the street Wednesday, to play the majority of snaps. We'd use him over Cox, but expecting much production is a pipe dream. Look for the Giants to go with a pass-heavy attack designed to exploit a Vikings secondary giving up 308.0 yards per game on the season.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Giants will work out free agent RB Peyton Hillis.
Hillis spent the summer with the Bucs and made the team before being released ahead of Week 3. He rushed just 38 times for 147 yards (3.9 YPC) during the preseason against second- and third-stringers. The Giants need bodies in the backfield. Brandon Jacobs and Michael Cox are the only healthy backs on the roster. Hillis, 27, doesn't have a lot left in the tank.

Bucs released RB Peyton Hillis.
Hillis was active for Week 1 but didn't see the field. He was a healthy scratch last week. During the preseason, Hillis rushed 38 times for 147 yards (3.9 YPC) mainly against backups. He was No. 4 on the depth chart behind Doug Martin, Brian Leonard, and Mike James. Hillis' career may be coming to a close.

Peyton Hillis appears to have slid to No. 4 on Tampa Bay's tailback depth chart.
With Doug Martin (rest) sitting out Saturday night's third preseason game, Brian Leonard was the starter and rookie Mike James played directly behind him. Hillis was the No. 3 back through the rotation, and has managed 29 preseason carries for 114 yards (3.93 YPC) despite facing primarily second- and third-team defenders. Hillis will probably be trimmed at final cuts.
