The Bears placed Long (hip) on injured reserve Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Long spent much of the season playing through a hip injury. The severity of his hip issue will now cause Long to miss the remainder of 2019, per Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. The Bears will role with Ted Larsen (knee) as the starter at right guard going forward.

The Bears are expected to place Long (hip) on injured reserve prior to their next game Oct. 20 versus the Saints, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bears are on their bye this week, allowing the team some extra time to assess Long's condition before rendering a verdict on his status. Long has battled a hip injury for most of the season, and the team apparently isn't confident in his ability to play through the issue any longer. If Long does get placed on IR, he'll likely miss the reminder of the season.

Long (hip) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Raiders in London.
EDGE Analysis
Long was unable to play against the Vikings last week due to the hip issue, but he's good to go for the London matchup after logging a full practice Friday. The 30-year-old should return to his starting post at right guard.

Long (hip) is inactive for Sunday's divisional test against the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Long suffered the injury during practice this week and came into the clash a true game-time decision. Now that Long is officially sidelined, look for Ted Larsen to draw the start at right guard.

Long (hip) suffered a setback at practice this week and is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Vikings, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
After logging a full practice Wednesday, Long has been a non-participant the last two days. It should be noted he was considered questionable heading into the Bears' previous game and ended up playing. Ted Larsen would presumably be in line to fill in at right guard should he end up sidelined.

Long (hip) is officially active and will play in Monday's game against Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Long was only able to log limited participation throughout the week, so it's positive news for he and the team that he was able to shake off the injury. Given his addition into the lineup, expect Long to slot into his usual role as the team's starting right guard.

Long (hip) is officially listed as questionable for Monday night's tilt against the Redskins.
EDGE Analysis
Long was limited at practice throughout the week until sitting out Saturday in its entirety. That trend does not bode well for his status Monday, but the Bears may have been just opting to exercise caution. He looks to be a true game-time decision at this point. Ted Larsen would presumably fill in at right guard should Long be unable to go.

Long agreed to a restructured contract with the Bears on Friday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Long was set to have a salary cap hit of $8.5 million in 2019, so the restructure secures his standing on Chicago's roster despite missing 22 games over the last three seasons. The 30-year-old spent eight games on injured reserve with a foot injury in 2018 but was able to return for the regular season finale and playoffs, and serves as an enormous locker room presence for the Bears.

Long (foot) has been activated from injured reserve Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear if Long will start Sunday against the Vikings, but it seems likely the guard will at least see some playing time as the Bears prepare for a potential playoff run. Long has been on injured reserve since suffering a foot injury in Week 8, but he figures to provide an immediate boost to the Bears' offensive line during a critical time of the season.

Long (foot) was designated to return from injured reserve Friday, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Long landed on injured reserve after suffering the foot injury Week 8 against the Jets. The 30-year-old now has a 21-day window in which he can practice before the Bears must decide whether to activate him to the 53-man roster or allow him to remain on injured reserve. The earliest Long can appear in a game is Week 17 against the Vikings, as he must remain on injured reserve for at least eight games. The veteran lineman could provide a major boost to the Bears' offensive line for the playoffs if able to return.
