Bengals RB Brian Leonard (ribs) was held out of practice again on Thursday.
Expect Cedric Peerman to fill in as the third-down back versus the Steelers this week. Peerman's reception total was artificially inflated by the Bengals' comeback mode in last week's loss. He's not a recommended fantasy option in PPR leagues.

Browns RB Brian Leonard (ribs) was held out of Wednesday's practice.
With Cincinnati going on bye in Week 8, it appears Leonard is going to sit out against the Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Leonard is seeing heavy third-down snaps, but simply isn't getting enough touches to be on the PPR-league radar.

X-rays on Brian Leonard's ribs were negative.
Leonard is officially day to day. Look for him to sit out Week 7 so he can rest up through the Week 8 bye. Cedric Peerman will likely be the pass-catching back against the Steelers this week.

Bengals RB Brian Leonard left Sunday's Week 6 game against the Browns with a rib injury and will not return.
Leonard was in street clothes on the sideline as the Bengals came out for the second half, hinting at a fracture. The Bengals are down to Cedric Peerman behind workhorse BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

Brian Leonard and Cedric Peerman are expected to see an increase in snaps with BenJarvus Green-Ellis struggling and Bernard Scott out for the season.
Averaging just 2.58 yards per carry the past three weeks, Green-Ellis' snap-count dipped below 50 percent versus the Dolphins in Week 5. Neither Leonard nor Peerman is worthy of a roster spot in 12- and 14-team leagues, but they seem certain to eat into Green-Ellis' already shaky fantasy value.

Brian Leonard left Sunday's Week 9 game against the Titans with a knee injury.
His status for next week is unknown at this time, but any absence would have very little impact in fantasy leagues. The handful of touches he sees in any given week would simply be absorbed by Cedric Benson and Bernard Scott.

Brian Leonard does not expect his role to change this week even though Cedric Benson is suspended.
Leonard will remain in his third-down/two-minute drill role, allowing Bernard Scott to function as the true feature back. Leonard hasn't topped five touches in a game this season.

Brian Leonard confirmed his role as the Bengals' third-down and two-minute drill back.
If Cedric Benson ends up suspended, Leonard will see a small bump in touches. But the majority of feature back work will go to Bernard Scott. Leonard has averaged just 3.37 touches per game in 29 career outings as a Bengal.

Bengals agreed to terms with RB/FB Brian Leonard on a two-year deal.
This won't affect the likelihood that the Bengals will be bringing back Cedric Benson. Leonard is more of a third-down specialist and glue guy than a pure running back. He doesn't figure to get much more than the 2.6 touches he averaged per game a year ago.

Free agent RB/FB Brian Leonard would like to re-sign with the Bengals.
Leonard was tendered at the second-round level by Cincinnati, an indication the team also wants him back. There's a good chance he'll be handling the third-down role again in 2011.
