James scored 25 points (8-16 FG, 2-5 3PT, 7-9 FT) to with two rebounds, two assists and three steals across 29 minutes in Saturday's 104-101 loss to San Antonio.
EDGE Analysis
James surpassed the 20-point mark for the first time in his last seven games, leading the Suns with 25 points from the bench on Saturday. Two days after signing a one-year contract, the guard responded by coming within a point of tying his career-high 26 points that he set on November 26. James struggled from the floor in his previous six games, shooting 34.8 percent for an average of 6.1 points per game. On Saturday, James benefited from the absence of Devin Booker (groin). James will look to build upon Saturday's breakout performance when Phoenix takes on Sacramento on Tuesday.

James will be signed for the rest of the season, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
With James' two-way contract that only allows spend 45 days with the Suns during the regular season set to expire, Phoenix had a decision to make, and given how impressive the point guard has been since opening night, the decision was likely a pretty easy one. The 27-year-old rookie has primarily served as a backup point guard and is averaging 10.5 points, 4.0 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game this season. In order to create a permanent roster spot for James, the Suns will waive Derrick Jones Jr.

James' two-way deal with the Suns is set to expire Wednesday, and the team is yet to make a decision on his future, Dan Feldman of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
As a two-way player, James is only allowed to spend 45 days with the Suns for the season, but since he's been with Phoenix since opening night, he's burned through that allotment in as little time as possible. While GM Ryan McDonough has publicly stated that the Suns intend to keep James around, it's unclear how, exactly, the organization would go about doing that, as his deal would have to be converted to a standard NBA contract, and a full-time roster spot would need to be created. If Phoenix decides to go that route, it could cut a young player like Derrick Jones, Jr. or 2017 second-rounder Davon Reed, though the Suns would likely try to avoid severing ties with a young, unproven asset. Alternatively, Phoenix could engineer a trade to free up a roster spot -- the recently acquired Greg Monroe comes to mind as one potential options -- or simply send James to the G-League for the time being. A resolution of some sort is expected to come before midnight Wednesday, so the situation is worth monitoring throughout the evening.

James recorded 26 points (10-20 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven assists and five rebounds across 30 minutes during a 119-108 loss to the Timberwolves on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
James was phenomenal off the bench, as he tallied a career-high 26 points and vastly outplayed starting guard Tyler Ulis, who had just four points. He received an increased workload because Devin Booker (knee) was sidelined. James has been up and down so far this season, and when Booker returns, that trend will likely continue for James.

James managed nine points (4-4 FG, 1-3 FT), five assists and three rebounds across 19 minutes in Saturday's 118-110 win over the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
James was shifted to the second unit Saturday in favor of Tyler Ulis, but he still managed to outpace the latter in scoring and equal his rebound and assist totals despite playing seven fewer minutes. There were rumblings that the move may have been at least partly disciplinary in nature -- James threw the ball at teammate Dragan Bender in the Suns' last contest -- lending credence to the notion that the starting point guard could find himself back with the first unit against the Lakers on Monday night.

James will come off the bench for Saturday's game against the Timberwolves with Tyler Ulis drawing the start, Scott Bordow of The Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move comes just one game after James threw a basketball at teammate Dragan Bender after some frustration. It's unclear if his overall workload will be affected.

James finished with 18 points (6-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds and three assists across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 126-115 loss to the Heat.
EDGE Analysis
Though James has generally struggled to find consistency in his shot (37.4 percent coming into Wednesday), he's shown an ability to get hot from the field on occasion while also being a quality source of assists. That, coupled with the fact that he plays in a fast-paced offense, seems to make him a legitimate fantasy option in many formats moving forward.

James totaled 10 points (1-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-10 FT), six assists and four rebounds across 29 minutes during a 122-116 win over the Wizards on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
James went ice cold from the field in the win, as he shot below 30 percent for the third time in the last four games. He has provided at least four assists in five of his last six outings, but his scoring numbers tend to be all over the place from game to game. Since he is still starting, he still has some value for owners willing to stomach the low field goal percentages.

James totaled 24 points (9-16 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five assists, four steals, three rebounds, and one block in 29 minutes during Tuesday's 122-114 win over the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
James finished with career highs in scoring, steals, threes, minutes, and field goals made and attempted. The Nets have been abysmal when it comes to slowing down opposing backcourts, but James has been extremely impressive in his own right, hitting double figures in five of seven games. The 27-year-old rookie has been one of the pleasant surprises of the young season, and he seems locked into a reliable role as the starter unless an Eric Bledsoe trade brings back another quality point guard capable of pushing James and Tyler Ulis for minutes.

James tallied 18 points (8-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt), seven assists and two rebounds across 27 minutes in Monday's 117-115 win over the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Getting the start in place of Eric Bledsoe (team decision), James proved worthy of the role, shooting a blistering 80.0 percent from the field, including 50.0 percent from three-point range. The 27-year-old was effective as a ball distributor as well and certainly did nothing to lose the opportunity to continue holding down the top point guard job for the time being. James enjoyed a solid career in Europe over the last five seasons and has translated that success to the NBA thus far, as he's now posted double-digit scoring in his first four contests.
