There was some speculation that Nicolas Batum would move into the starting lineup, but Nate McMillan has opted to start a more traditional lineup. Nevertheless, we expect Batum to play more off the bench while Thomas remains a negligible fantasy option.

Kurt Thomas played 16 minutes with Marcus Camby (ankle) leaving Friday's game early, finishing with no points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Thomas appeared to be his primary replacement but didn't do much, obviously. He needs to prove he still has the ability to impact the stat sheet before we'll recommend an add here.

Kurt Thomas started at center for the Blazers on Wednesday, as Marcus Camby sat out with a knee injury. Camby will reportedly have an MRI on his left knee Thursday, so it's possible Thomas sees decent minutes early. He's not going to be worth owning in most leagues, but could be a fill-in if Camby is out for an extended period.

The Trail Blazers and veteran center Kurt Thomas have agreed on a two-year contract. With Greg Oden's knees and Marcus Camby's general fragility, it was vital for Portland to add reliable depth in the middle. Thomas, the league's oldest player, will give them quality minutes without offering any fantasy value.
