Although it seems as though Wolf should be ascending, it appears as though the Nets' coaching staff has other ideas, at least for now.

Wolf is still predictably showing some inconsistency, but he's scored in double digits in eight of the last 11 games (one start), averaging 12.5 points, 5.4 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.6 threes and 1.4 combined blocks and steals in 22.4 minutes over that stretch.

Wolf started out nicely with seven points in the first quarter. He was held scoreless in the second and third quarters, but with the Nets facing a blowout loss, the rookie first-rounder and other reserves saw increased burn in the fourth. Wolf tallied nine points in the final frame and finished as the Nets' second-leading scorer behind Michael Porter (18 points), and it was the fifth time this season that the former scored at least 15 points in a game.

This was an encouraging performance for Wolf off the bench, but his role has been too volatile in recent games to trust him in most fantasy formats. Over his last five games, he's averaging 21.0 minutes with 8.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 three-pointers.

Wolf amassed 11 points (4-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-4 FT), six rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and one steal across 28 minutes during Thursday's 112-84 loss to Cleveland.

Wolf posted an impressive box score during the defeat, showcasing his diverse skill set. As long as Nic Claxton (ankle) remains sidelined, Wolf has a clear path to increased usage. Day'Ron Sharpe started Thursday's game at center, but he played only 20 minutes and finished with four points (1-5 FG), five rebounds and three assists.

Wolf will come off the bench for Wednesday's game versus the Pacers, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.

While Wolf won't start, it's worth noting that Michael Porter (knee), Noah Clowney (ankle) and Nic Claxton (hip) are out, so Wolf still has the potential to play meaningful minutes while working in a reserve role Wednesday evening. While he is more of a stash than a must-roster player, he is doing enough to be held in certain situations right now.
