Ramos may remain the Mets' closer to finish off 2017 even after Jeurys Familia (shoulder) comes off the DL, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mets manager Terry Collins suggested Friday that the team won't push Familia back into high-leverage situations right away after he rejoins the bullpen, which is expected to happen in a week or two. "He'll get back in there. I don't know where it will be, if it's going to be the ninth inning right out of the gate," Collins said. "But I think the most important thing we're going to need to see is after the rehab that the health's good. ... We're not worried about [Familia proving himself in] pressure situations. This guy's pitched in the biggest ones there is. As long as he leaves this year knowing that he's healthy, that's going to be a big step." Ramos will remain the team's closer at least through the end of the month, but his fantasy utility may not take a big hit even after Familia comes off the DL.

Ramos struck out two and gave up a solo home run in the ninth inning while recording his 21st save of the season in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The save was his first since being traded to the Mets, but Ramos has hardly been dominant for his new club -- he's been scored upon in three of four appearances since the trade, bumping his ERA on the year to 4.12. With Jeurys Familia (shoulder) throwing bullpen sessions and inching closer to a return, Ramos' days as the Mets' closer may not last too much longer.

Ramos is slated to serve as the Mets' closer following the team's trade of Addison Reed to the Red Sox on Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Reed has been solid in the ninth inning this season while Jeurys Familia has missed time due to a suspension and a shoulder injury, the non-contending Mets were eager to cash Reed in for longer-term assets prior to the trade deadline since he was bound for free agency in the offseason. The Reed trade helps explains the team's rationale for acquiring Ramos from the Marlins on Friday, as the 30-year-old right-hander still has another year of team control beyond 2017 and will help bolster the back end of the bullpen for this season and next. With 92 saves with Miami over the last two-plus seasons, Ramos has plenty experience in the closing role, but a high walk rate (5.1 BB/9) has inflated both his ERA (3.98) and WHIP (1.35) in 2017, rendering him little more than a middle-tier fantasy option. Nonetheless, with few viable challengers in the Mets bullpen at present, Ramos should enjoy plenty of security in the ninth inning for the next few weeks before Familia's potential return from the 60-day disabled list forces manager Terry Collins to revisit the situation.

Ramos was added to the Mets' active roster Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was acquired by the Mets on Friday but was not available during Saturday's contest. The late-inning reliever will be available Sunday and manager Terry Collins noted that he'd like to pitch Ramos against the Mariners prior to the team's off day Monday.

Ramos is not on the active roster for Saturday's game after getting dealt to the Mets on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos will likely be in uniform for Sunday's series finale against the Mariners, but won't be able to reach the team in time for Saturday's affair. The reliever should slide right into high-leverage situations for New York, earning save opportunities while Jeurys Familia (shoulder) remains on the disabled list.

Ramos was traded to the Mets on Friday, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's serves as a somewhat surprising move at this point, but demonstrates that the Mets are prepared to make a run in 2018 and want Ramos as a core piece in their bullpen. The right-hander -- who has one year remaining on his current contract -- is 20-for-22 on save opportunities with the Marlins this season, but has seen a sharp drop in his numbers after compiling 40 saves and a 2.81 ERA in an All-Star-worthy 2016 campaign. He likely slots in as the current closer for the Mets, especially with Jeurys Familia still nursing a shoulder injury, but his long-term value could drop next year when he becomes relegated to a setup role.

Ramos pitched 1.1 scoreless innings to record his 20th save of the season during Thursday's win over Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing at least one run in three consecutive outings, Ramos has now pitched 5.1 scoreless innings over his past five appearances. He sports a 3.63 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 10.7 K/9 for the campaign, and projects to remain a solid closing option. However, his name has been included in trade rumors recently, so there is currently a little uncertainly looming.

Ramos recorded a strikeout during a scoreless ninth inning to collect his 19th save of the season in Saturday's win over Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos hasn't been as sharp this season and sports an underwhelming 3.86 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. However, he has the firm grasp on the closing duties for Miami, and his 11.1 K/9 provides a nice fantasy boost. Ramos projects to remain a sound relief option in all settings.

Ramos pitched a perfect inning to earn his 18th save of the year Friday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was protecting a two-run lead, and was able to close out the Reds with no drama. Despite a very high ERA and WHIP for a closer, his ability to close out games continues to make him a valuable fantasy asset.

Ramos (2-4) allowed three runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one to take the loss Friday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was protecting a one-run lead, but allowed a three-run bomb to Yasiel Puig to blow his second save of the year. Despite owning a 4.19 ERA to go along with a 1.31 WHIP, his biggest asset for fantasy owners is his ability to close out games, which he successfully done 17 times on the year.
